Keep in mind that somebody "hating" something isn't exactly a compelling reason for others to change things.
and forced is just disgusting on so many levels

Thus there is really no need for additional hoops to pass.
So, then, we shouldn’t sell games because somebody may apply their lessons to other contexts?!
I keep AO content disabled since I'm not interested in such things, but other people should be able to get and play what they like. Just ignore the stuff you don't like.
Your read of the OP’s take is “unpunished rape in a game may lead some idiot to take similar action elsewhere, so let’s gate that possibility behind a filter” and you cannot see how accepting the premise at face value would demand more action?
So Valve shouldn't sell games that people buy because people don't turn the filter back on?
How about Valve ban those people who complain about adult content after turning the filter off and don't turn it back on. Also ban those who complain about the adult content after turning the filter back on.
Basically you want to ban stuff that is illegal in real life... so I guess no more street racing games, no more games with any kind of guns or weapons in them. No more games with swearing. No more games with any kind of same sex interactions (kissing and stuff like that) so pretty much almost no games at all... Because they are all banned somewhere in the world.
Or how about this crazy idea.... you just don't buy games you don't like... hit ignore on them and never see them again...
