THey don't do it for the actually piopular games...
Thopuigh who knows with Microsoft pulling the strings now.
Blizzards' choice but please note: You can no longer play the original version of Warcraft 3, instead you can only play the abandoned Reforged version.
Lesson learned is customers really are not interested in spending money every month to access a game. i avoided final fantasy online due to subscription , i avoided world of warcraft. i in fact avoided elder scrolls online, until i learned it was not subscription based but more micro transaction based.
micro transactions are fine if they allow users to enjoy the game without purchasing, subscription based gaming is a bane on the industry that provided low quality servers and low quality updates in a effort to keep users engaged to purchase another month or another year.
over all i enjoyed warcraft and warcraft 2 in the early 90's and enjoyed warcraft 3 in early 1999, i also enjoyed world of warcraft from 2004 release date to 2008 when poor connection quality over seas made the game basicly unplayable in raid format, there is really no reason for steam to have warcraft games, those games are perfectly playable on battle or purchasing for low cost via blizzards page directly.
as stated blizzard putting online fps shooters on steam was a effort to increase population on a game that is considered dead and broken by the first person shooter genre, games like fortnite and valorant completely over shadowed other FPS even counterstrike 2 does not live up to the numbers they say, though you will get those people that are convinced everything steam says is true.
I however Doubt that even a majority of the things on steam are true. Opinion based on knowing the products and the community which play them.
Sadly, it doesn't matter if you don't like it. A lot of these companies force you to have an account for this/that game or install their launcher etc. Like, UCrapsoft, bishtesda, etc.
I am avoiding all games that require these things while being on Steam. Warcraft is tied to Blizzard's launcher and website. The game won't be coming over here.
