Steam client feature request: No autoplay

I just wanted to have it said i guess, if not already done. .-.

Steam needs settings option so the user can disable auto-play videos on store pages, and also the gifs/videos in the 'about' sections.
And for no popup live video. >_>
And for no auto-next the images.

So tediously annoying every single time i look at a game page and first thing click video to pause, (and click x on the popup live video) so i can read the description in peace.
And to look at a still image for mree than 3 seconds(?) i have to screenshot them, and open screenshots folder, open image in viewer. or press back every three seconds and be constantly interrupted from what i was focusing on.
EVery time for years.
Steam should really just have an option. Why is that not a thingggggg?
This is a deterrent from casually browsing through the steam store, why bother if its so constantly annoying me.

Came here because i was trying to read the section on the right and gif/video was so distracting i had to move most of the window off the screen so i could just read the thing.

They do have that option already, when a video plays you can see a little box at the bottom of the video to unclick auto-play. So the feature exists. Now, the problem is that it has been buggy since the day it released many years ago, and it's not reliable, I still see videos auto-play because the option to auto-play was reenabled without me reenabling it, so there is a bug with the feature where it reenables itself.

I havent seen a video on a store page play in many years.

Stupid ass developer streams are another story. I want them gone as well.

The first has a toggle in the video player.

The second has a setting in your preferences.

The setting for streams doesnt seem to work unless they fixed it recently. Ive had that toggle set since it existed, dev streams still appear and you cant even X them out, youre just stuck with them.
