Family Share beta - Copies in library amount
With this new feature we are now able to play simultaneously the same game within a Family Library as long as it has anough copies of that.

The problem is:
The current implementation simply doesn't tell us how many of the same game is available to be played, so as a family member I can see that a given game is available, but I can't tell how many copies are tho.

IMO this is a vital and simple feature that must be added to the family share beta, just displaying the amount number of the same game contained on a family library.

What you think guys? :steamthumbsup:/:steamthumbsdown:

Well, considering there are a maximum of six people in your "family" list, assuming you're using it correctly and sharing it with your actual household, it would be pretty trivial to just know who owns what games.

Besides that, there's a selection menu available when more than one person in a family owns the game, and you manually select which copy you'll be playing. This menu only shows when there are multiple copies in a family, so if a game has no selection menu next to the "play" button allowing you to pick which copy to play, you can assume that there's only one copy available.

Hmm, I've not seen this selection menu so far, maybe no one of my family members has 2 copies that I don't.

But good to know, this already solves part of the problem I'm seeing here.

But wouldn't hurt to see the number displayed so I can better consider to buy a new copy or not.

Trivial? Lmao. If both of the owners of a game doesn't had any DLC's, the option is not avaible. So u gotta guess how many copies do u have.

They actually implemented the feature I wanted, now I can see how many copies there are in my family.

It looks like the idea wasn't that bad. :steamhappy:

I found this thread having exactly same question. Where can you see the number of copies?

In your library any game that has multiple licenses available in the Steam family will have a small number icon in the lower corner of the game cover.

Looks like this:
https://prnt.sc/8tq_ySxDoR33

Ih this case 3 users in the Steam Family own that game so 3 members can play at at the same time if they want.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
