I don't think having a camera on the screen side would be cool. Have it on the back that way it's not always watching you O_O

You could hold it like an oldschool camera for pictures or to scan something. Seems like there is a lot of potential for the steam deck if it's easy to fit more gadgets into it. I think that camera would be inevitable.

How about no camera at all... If you want to take pictures use an actual camera or use your phone. No need to add extra cost for something that doesn't add anything and even becomes a security risk.

Also a lot of kids use the deck, having a camera on its back, pointing down at their (or even an adults) lap doesn't sound like a great idea...

The deck doesn't need to be an everything item like some people want to make it.

You can plug a usb cam to the deck if I'm not mistaken.

There was a time period there where it seemed like every device imaginable needed to have a camera.

That's behind us now though, and most likely you already have a high-quality camera in your pocket at all time.

Plug a USB or wifi cam browser, wifi cams have been around for 10 plus years, you can even turn a old phone or tablet into a wifi cam steam deck needs to cut cost, touch pad can go screen touch pads all you need the joy sticks apparently break often enough they required replaced.

Steam needs to go more stream line with steam deck, make it more like a tablet less dodgy joycons then. Weight n size of steam deck is it's downfalls, it's only a 7 inch screen but a 11 inch wide device?

Just run a game on ultra settings, flip the deck upside down, set griddle ontop, profit.
