Wish list export/share feature to promote direct gifting
When you open your steam wish list in a browser or in the client, there is no option to share the wish list with others. It is possible to copy your /wishlist/profiles/### link in the browser to show people what games you are interested in without them having a steam account, but if you try to select the options to purchase for yourself/gift to others, you still need a steam account in order to continue.

I think I would enjoy a share button on the wishlist to easily/more intuitively transmit my wishlist to other people, especially since I mainly interact with the client store rather than the browser.

I think it would also make gifting easier if it were possible to gift people games without having your own steam account. That way, when the holidays come around and people are asking for gift wish lists, I can easily share the wish list, they click the link and look through it, and can then purchase gifts in a more streamlined process. You could even add options to delay the receiving or ability to open the gift until X day.

Other websites use 'continue as guest' features to allow purchases without account creation, so if there is still a minimum amount of information that must be collected in order to make a purchase, which would have been done if they created an account, you could get that information this way while still letting the customer feel like they were getting through the purchase process as quickly as possible.

I think these would be desirable features, similar to how Amazon does their wish lists and it is easy to share them. Granted, it is more common for people to have an Amazon account, so if they require accounts to continue gifting, it is less of an issue.

I feel this could lead to an increase in revenue for Steam and game developers, and could make sharing steam wish lists around birthdays and holidays more common and normal.

Thank you for reading.

They purposely want people to have a steam account and require you to be friends to reduce fraud. So don't expect this to be changed

Also Amazon also requires you to have an amazon account to buy something off someone's wishlist.

A Steam account was always required to purchase anything on Steam.

In May 2017, they added the additional requirement of being Steam friends to gift games to each other.

Is there anything in the gift card process to address the fraud concerns here? I think you can buy those in game/grocery stores and don't need an account.

Maybe add a purchase steam gift card button on wish list or gift card in X amount next to add to cart button

You need an account to send a game, a physical gift card isn't subject to tax fraud, region fraud, etc like buying games are. You can already send digital funds to people if you wish.

For digital gift cards on Steam, you must have an account and be Steam friends for a minimum of 3 days.

Physical cards/codes from retailers do not need an account BUT those are currency restricted.
