click "my account", then "data related to your account".
scroll down to "store" list and click on "email preferences".
change settings and disable what you dont want, by checking "send me an email when", unchecking what you dont want.
then in my case i checked the "opt out" selection after doing the above, because simply opting out, doesnt stop them.

You can't stop emails from awards you GIVE. You can stop emails for ones you receive.
i literally get nothing sent to email through those options and havent since i changed them.
been checking for months since i disable them, not even emails for giving awards have shown up :P
You have to "Opt out of all email marketing communication."
Which means you get no marketing emails at all.
and im happy doing that, i dont want my email spammed

well, then they dont have too, its clearly their choice and im not demanding them to do anything, i simply gave info for the OP, who wanted help too stop the steam email spam.
as mentioned when i used "in my case".
that being said, i dont need to have all that spam nonsense, when i can see all of this on the client without using the email.
thats the whole reason for notifications and steam news icon.

I actually don't mind receiving emails about awards I receive once in a while - or really most of the other things in there - but there's literally no option to stop emails for awards I hand out.
the "opt out" selection does that, but, i think people need to suggest, that steam adds it into "opt in" selection (dont receive emails for awards i give).
but in any case, choose what you dont want.

I ended up setting a "filter" in my email client to bin them immediately.
but I agree with your suggestion, to have an option in steam to specifically not send emails about awards I've given out.
I don't know why I hadn't thought of this sooner, but I've gone ahead and added a filter rule to my email settings so that "You've given a" in the subject line gets thrown in the trash. It's still dumb that I'd have to do that, though.
One of the potential reasons is it can be a warning sign of your account being hijacked and the hijacker using your points up.
