Option to hide time played of games
Hi there,

One thing I really don't want or need to know is how much time I've spent playing any particular game. I already know that I spend a lot of time playing games, but I really don't need it presented to me in text.

It'd be great to have an option in Steam that would allow me to hide the time played for all titles.

Thanks!

I think that The feature is already present in the settings. Not sure.

We are waiting for specialist users for more confirmation.

There is no feature to hide play time for yourself.

You can hide play time for others viewing your profile or games list by using the Private Games feature currently in the beta.

Like it was before 2010 when they added the time you played (if I remember it well it was around 2009-2010)

Which unfortunately doesn’t hide the time from me, though. I don’t see how it’d be difficult to have a variable/switch to just not output the time if enabled.

2008 is when they started counting hours.

I know. I was initially responding to the person I quoted.

But I do not disagree.

Same as your previous suggestion.

Select “Privacy Settings” in the left-hand navigation bar. On this page, locate “My Profile” and select the checkbox in this section labeled “Always keep my total playtime private even if users can see my game details”.

Keep in mind if you write a review for a game, your total hours will still be visible there.
