YouTube is also falling out of taste with a lot of people and countries for pushing unsolicited, intrusive ads where they are not wanted. They are even blocking people from the platform just to push ads.
No thank you.
Do you know why they are pushing lots of "intrusive ads where they are not wanted"... because its VERY expensive to host and to stream videos.
Guess what Valve would have to do if they allowed video uploads and streaming of those videos.... they would also have to have lots of "intrusive ads where they are not wanted" from 3rd party companies that have nothing to do with the games being sold on Steam because it will cost them A LOT of money to host and stream videos.
Youtube is fighting against adblockers so that they can make money and continue what they do. Valve would more then likely end up making it so that you can only watch their videos in their browser, and because there is no adblock that can be installed in their browser you will not be able to block videos at all.
So either keep uploading to youtube, or find some other video hosting site that is more then likely doing the same thing as youtube because of how expensive video hosting and streaming is.
And no just because Steam brings in a lot of money, doesn't mean it can host and steam videos for free/without ads from 3rd party companies that have nothing to do with the games being sold.
How much is Google worth? They host their own servers too. Nice try.
They are blocking some people who use it. I'd like to see things centralized here.
Still, if you want to upload a lot, it'll end up being a video platform. Hopefully they will have a small maximum upload amount if they do this:
Well that is a refreshing notice :]
