Add a Two Thumbs up for people who loved a game.
Adding a "Two Thumbs Up" or "Loved It" button and showing how many people like the game but how many of them loved it. This not only gives feedback but can show how much of the purchasers liked or even loved it. Best part thinking about this you don't even need a two thumbs down as hating something really doesnt give as much feedback and usually spawns cheap shots and name calling (this going out to the COD community yelling at devs to un-nerf the meta build they were using and now they "hate" the game and go online to complain not really helping)

What particular use is there to feedback “sixty-five percent loved, fifteen percent liked this” relative to “eighty percent liked this?”

What does "I recommend this game with both of my hands" even mean from the perspective of a binary review system?

Whats the difference from saying its a positive review or 2 thumbs up review.... absolutely nothing.

You want to say, 2 thumbs up do so in the review... heck you can even say so...

 :steamthumbsup:or

this feels like its following the current trend video streaming stations are using... its a neat idea for shows but dunno if it needs to be on steam

As a consumer many uses. This would allow outside people see if a games fan base like or loved a title more. ANY extra data given on anything would have use. I think I would like to see how much of a game community that reviews a game liked it and how many love it and see what the split looks like to a successful game and mid game letting trends develop. Take Helldivers 2 into account people are loving this game but then games like Nightingale where the community is just mixed and mid this would allow for not only better purchasing decisions on the buyers but also let the gaming industry look at what works and what doesn't more closely.

Oooor heard me out, just leave a review with the explanation of why you really liked the game...
like the normal people.

and gets burred underneath 20k other reviews doing nothing for anyone and worst yet a waste of my time writing out 20 paragraphs of why I love a game to not be seen.

Your friends will see the review. If they mark it helpful, funny, etc, it pushes up the relevancy making it more visible to others. Or, you just write one paragraph and stop worrying about who sees it.

:frozenmech: And a “liked/loved” distinction prevents that rockfall how, exactly? Do you think those twenty-thousand creators of less-useful reviews (or the people who do actually get something from them) will avoid using available ratings for your benefit?

The amount of push back this idea has just dumbfounds me. Why wouldn't you want any more data to base any purchases on? While also allowing the community dictate whats more of a mid game vs gems that deserve more than a single thumbs up? I guess I stand in awe.

A) The question is "do you RECOMMEND it"
B) Your reviews suck

And then when everyone else starts using 2 thumbs up that you are asking for to get more attention, your reviews will again be buried, and you will want something else to help your reviews to stand out, and then when everyone start using that method too, your reviews will get buried and you will want something else....

You don't seem to understand that what ever you get to help your reviews stand out, EVERYONE gets to help make their reviews stand out and that soon enough, your reviews will just be buried again and you will be back asking for yet another thing to help your reviews stand out.... which then everyone gets, which then buries your reviews, which then gets you back here asking for something to help them stand out....

Its never ending. There are hundreds of thousands of reviews made every day, maybe more. If you want them to stand out more, be a curator and make some quality reviews, if people find your curator reviews good, more people will subscribe to it and more people will see it.

I wasn't asking for me or other to stand out. Just that additional context around a game and how its perceived by the community. Adding a loved it button will do NOTHING to you if you feel so strongly about it and comes with no real negatives outside of your views, but somehow you and others seem to think it would make zero sense and has no real use. I guess I look at the system and see something small that could be used for a ton of various uses with little to no negative impacts. This idea didn't stem from me not getting views or the reviews themselves but at a glance allowing people to have more data on any given moment about a game or purchase. I guess I'm the only one that likes the extra info and would think it would be neat to see how well liked or loved a game or franchise is.
