New tags for games, please

Specifically, I would like to see tags related to the following:

1. Third Party Network Account
2. Third Party Launcher
3. Third Party DRM

This would allow gamers to filter out any games with these things present.

Yes, I realize that "you could just read the description" but you could do that for ANYTHING that has a tag for it. The filter system is there so you can either find things you want or remove things you don't want in a semi-automated manner.

If we can filter out adult content or violent content, we should be able to filter out other potentially unwanted things in our games.

Third Party Launcher = Steam

Third Party DRM = Steam

So every single game not made by Valve would have to have these meaning you would not be able to filter anything out, so this means Steam is the 3rd party.

Those are more what they should be, but users create the tags so start putting them on games and hope it catches on, but I doubt they will last long, they don't seem to allow tags that would be negative for a game, which these would be.

So best you can do is what we have now, look at the games store page, and then ignore any that has stuff that you don't want.

Good idea. Publishers are not always open about these things (e.g. Code:Vein still has Denuvo and doesn't disclose it). This is where user tags could come in handy, and indeed, filtering said tags could be useful.

They do. CODE VEIN have Denuvo "warning" in EULA.

You can only filter using tags. Listings under the game features aren't something you can auto-filter by.

I want to be able to make any games with those things just vanish from Steam as though they don't exist through the use of filters. That's why Steam has them. So you can include or exclude games based on various criterion.

As I noted previously. Anything that is currently a tag you could also just look up yourself by reading the description. They are ALL already a "duplication" using your metric.

The point is to be able to engage the filtration system in a way that we can't right now.

What you are referring to aren't Steamworks Features. That is the "3rd party DRM section" as shown at the 9 minute mark here...
