Full block needed when blocking a user
So I had this player the other day that I let join my world in a game I play. Turned out was a mistake as the user became annoying very fast so I told him I was going to remove him and after that he got abusive in nature so I blocked him fully.

Shortly after that I started getting alot of clown rewards given to alot of my posts and have to assume being it is the same game and the number of rewards that is being given that it is this same user now abusing the reward system to harass me.

Being I have the guy blocked there really needs to be a way to fully 100% block the user that includes their ability to send rewards to the person that blocked them.

So I suggest that rewards be added to the blocked features when a user blocks a player that player can't communicate including sending rewards of an abusive nature to the user.

i dont need you explaining anything to me, i know what i want and what is needed.

and i know how the block feature works, dont tell me what i do or dont know.

a full blocking feature, where neither can interact, end of story.

Impossible. People will unblock, make their mess, then reäpply to get their lil’ shield. “Neither can interact” cannot happen with a user-controlled system so long as we’re still these same human users.

That will not have a good impact.
That's why in Facebook's case last time I did this which was ages ago so maybe this has changed but when you unblock someone there is a time frame before you can block again as I accidentally blocked a one time and when I unblocked him it said I could not block him again for X amount of time and it was like a day or something like that if I remember right but as I said this was years ago so this might have changed.

I only wish to completely disable this whole "friend" feature. Something that auto-blocks or prevents "friend" invites instead of having to block every one manually. Don't wanna nobodies inviting me like they know me. If they waste my time with those dumb "friend" invites, they can make an enemy instead.
Well you already sort of have this feature in steam in the settings under notifications just turn off the friend invite notification. It's not a block but you won't be notified either

Nah, that would give them sense of false hope. I'd rather like to crush that hope.

meh, that stops notifications for all, not for specific people.

they should add a separate feature for blocking invites per person, along with overhauling the block feature, so it works better than its current state.

the block feature needs an overhaul, for full blocking, ie... no interaction, period.

:DK_Bat: The presumption that the block function only applies to bad actors is not accurate.

And I somehow doubt how serious you are that you don’t care what bad actors do.

That's what the current block feature does.

Yes, if you read what he wrote that is exactly what he is asking for. Something to stop ALL invites, not for specific people

right most people would not turn it off but he has the ability to do so but from the sounds of his response he wants to be cruel to the person by saying "I'd rather like to crush that hope." Just turn if off and don't worry about it.

With Facebook when I block someone I can't see their profile and they can't see mine they can no longer respond to any of my posts because they can't see that I posted it hence they can't get into the conversation to begin with. If I reply to someone else's post not sure as I know they can respond to that person but unsure if they can see my reply in that persons post or not. I have to assume not but not sure on that end.

On facebook that only works on your profile, same way it works on Steam. If you post on a companies public page on facebook that other user isn't blocked from posting on the same page. THAT is the entire point

You are free to block them from YOUR area of Steam, you cannot block them from the PUBLIC forums.

For instance if I block you now per your support for a full block you would not be able to participate in this thread anymore.

Actually you wont participate this thread as you are not the owner. It belongs to the OP. Full blocking means you dont exists at all. I dont see your profile pic as you dont see mine. That's how it works.

It does not, it belongs to Steam, just because someone made a post first doesn't mean it belongs to them. Steam is the only one who can decide if someone isn't allowed to post in a thread, not you or anyone else.

EVERYONE is allowed to participate. If you want that level of control you can make a group and in your group the forum there is under your control and you will have moderation powers and can dictate who is or isn't allowed to participate.

That part is still true. Facebook still does that.

OP doesn't 'own' the thread. It's a public thread.
