Suggestion: Steam Starts to Notify Users of Free Game Give aways
Example is right now "Endless Legend" is 100% free to own Steam has not given users any type of notification about this free to own game.

its being asked that steam starts to advertise these free games they give away so more users see that steam is making a effort to give its customers benefits.

other issues in free sticker and other free items on the steam platform that users miss out on because steam never notifies or advertises the things they give away for free.

Game devs/publishers are giving away the games. In this case the game dev Amplitude. They have communicated it.

Other store pages by same dev: https://imgur.com/a/rNNerTX

The free stuff is communicated via the events. If people don't see that, they're not the target anyway.

ok but i only found out about this game cause i was sitting waiting for new tires to be changed and just happened to use my cell phone, which my cellphone feed had gaming information which one just happened to be about Steam and steam giving away this free game.

everyone should be the target audience when a free game is given away. i fail to see how steam refuses to pass on the information.

more case in point are you saying steam has a News page? if so why does steams news page never load up when the app opens, however we all get hit with a videogame sales ad page.

Maybe the suggestion should be that Steam Puts the Steam news page on the front of the app when it loads?

ok thanks! i set my start up feed to news, the default is store which explains everything, it would be good for steam to change the default to news for users, and remove the store pop up page unless thats what people are seeking.

Steam news is much more viable.

No thanks. I don't wanna be bothered every time a game is given away cause 99% of the time i don't care about it.
Same for the point shop crap except replace that 99% with a 100%.

well you could always select friends activity , if you have no friends its even better there would be no activity!

keep in mind the default i shop which is why steam seems to hardcore advertise its stuff at us. better to swap it to something else

also community home is a good choice for those that like the forums anyway

I personally use a discord bot on my server that notifies everyone if there is a free game (epic, steam, etc) currently out there. Might be worth a look at since I figure you probably use discord like everyone else these days.

Even Steamdb has a Discord for this stuff on Steam...
