Games that add invasive anti-cheat software - list?
I just uninstalled Halo Infinite because it now requires Easy Anti-Cheat be installed on my PC.
I did the same with Destiny 2 because of BattEeye Anti-Cheat.

I really enjoyed the games but I just can't have such invasive software where I keep my financial spreadsheets, family photos, letters and so on. I'd rather put up with a few cheaters.

Now I have to search for a new game. Would be nice if there was a list!

Requires anti-cheat software install:
Halo Infinite - Easy Anti-Cheat
Destiny 2 - BattEeye Anti-Cheat
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis - Xigncode3

I can't imagine giving this kind of software administrative access to my computer and I'd hate to buy a game only to find out it was required.

Why don't they just put the crap on their servers instead of our PCs?

Any suggestions on a good "clean" first person shooter?

BTW, I don't cheat.

Use google to find a list like that. I doubt Valve is going to provide a list. There are curators who track what DRM and anti-cheats games use, again use google to find them.

BTW if this is because of the hack that was done in Apex Legends tournament the other day, as far as I know they haven't figured out yet how they got in, either via the game itself or the anti-cheat or maybe some other way.

If it does turn out to be that they got in via the anti-cheat.... well thats not going to be good for any game that uses an anti-cheat that has kernel level access.

Also here is another thread on pretty much the same topic...

And no, I'm not a supporter of any anti-cheat that uses kernel level to try to protect the game. Its too invasive for my liking.
