Buy gift cards via the points shop
Hello,
I know that some people don't use their steam points to personalize their profile. I know Sony does this on their store and I think it would be a good idea to add gift cards to the points shop. They would not be redeemable and only usable on the account where they were purchased. They would, of course, be much more expensive than profile customization items!
What do you think?

another "give me free stuff for my points" thread

points are FREE, you pay nothing for them and thus they are worth NOTHING.

But I'm not asking for something free? Playstation have the same points system. When you buy something on their store, you earn points and with these, you can buy gift cards which are much more expensive than customization items.

your asking for free money, so you are asking for something that costs money to be given for free.

So in your logic, if I take the example of a loyalty card, I'm trying to claim money?

in my logic, the customer is the last person I would take advice from when it comes to a loyalty program. they dont have the businesses interest in mind, they only have their own interest (getting what they can for as little as possible, and then still complaining that the business is not paying the customer to buy stuff)

the game developers want to be paid real money, steam points are not real money. steam used to offer coupons for points during sales events. when was the last event that had a coupon offered for points since the current system started? your idea is the same as giving someone a coupon, its just using a different word for coupon.

I can understand that, and I totally agree with you on that. I'd rather give my money to developers than use the gray market or cr@ck.
I don't know where Playstation gets the money to afford this system, so I can't say.
I can also see that my idea is bad, that's why I'm proposing it in order to get several opinions.
