Most of the time, Valve doesn't know it is being removed until it is and even then, a Steamworks partner can remove them whenever.
No, it wasn't Pacific Drive though I did play much of that demo. I stopped just after you fix up the car and drive out to the first mission. That was at least a steam fest demo so I figured it was time limited. Though I missed the whole part about no saves while on missions, that would have turned me off the game and did when I read about it a day later or so.
This game yesterday was Classified France '44. Saw it being played online last night, saw it had a demo and downloaded it to play it tonight. Only it was removed and only had the purchase option when I fired up Steam earlier to day. I get why devs remove demos after a game release but the game had been out for 2-3 days already. Just give people a heads up or something. It has happened too often to me in the past 1-2 years.
Nice to see Croteam had a warning for their game.
