Add the ability to report games as potential scams
I've been seeing some games which are clearly trying to be misleading (e.g. misuse of tags, fake reviews, high prices with a big discount to appear on various lists). I've been advised by support to report these games but none of the existing categories fit such a thing.

I would like to see an additional option to report games (or even developers) and have the report then be able to be reviewed and action taken.

Every store page has a flag icon on the right, scroll a bit. You can report the game there. They are reviewed, but that doesn't mean that action actually will get taken. It shouldn't be a surprise that Valve might look at things differently or that issues are merely perceived.

it would be classified under legal violation. Keep in mind however tags are USER DEFINED, not assigned by devs, fake reviews are often from users trying to troll for points, and a high price with a big discount isn't a scam or illegal.

So most games aren't going to be illegal, stuff like having a high price and often putting things on sale isn't illegal.

They're also assigned by devs. They can manage them as they like.

Applying Tags
Tags can be applied to a game by the developer, by players with non-limited accounts, and by Steam moderators. This allows the community to help mark up games with the terms, themes, and genres that help describe the game to others.

As the developer of a game, you can define its tags using the Steamworks Tag Wizard, which you'll find in your game's Store Presence / Edit Store Page / Basic Info section, under Tags. For a list of titles most in need of tagging, visit your Steamworks Recommended Actions page, where you’ll find links to the Tag Wizard per title you manage.

This wizard steps through a series of screens to help you build a well-rounded tag profile for your title. The wizard also provides an opportunity to order your title's tags for weighting purposes. Many tags can be applied to your game, but only the top 20 are visible to users and used by Steam to influence visibility of your title in the store. For more information, refer to the Tags and Store Visibility section below.

Note that tags and their relative weights may change over time as members of the community apply them to your game. While this tends not to fluctuate over time, you can revisit your tags and their weights using the Tag Wizard at any time.

True, I guess in these cases there isn't any way for a user to know who assigned the tag, but then again mistagging is a far cry from a scam. I mean there isn't any harm in reporting it, but I wouldn't expect to see any visible action taken

True that. I doubt most developers really look at the Tag Wizard after initial use and most tag changes/additions/removals are user related anyway. Was just pointing out that devs can manage the tags for their games. :lunar2019grinningpig:
