Add "Monster Taming" as a tag!

Never once in a real conversation have I said, "Did you play that new creature collector game?". I have and have always heard them referred to as monster taming games. Creature Collector has no precedent and fans of the genre have been using "Monster Taming" for years. Official reddit page, discords, yearly direct, etc all use it. The community and devs like my self would really appreciate the tag added.

"Collection" is not always emphasized in these games so the term does not seem as accurate for all games. There are many other developers and content creators who would prefer to use the phrase "Monster Tamer" or "Monster Taming".

Here's why we need "Monster Taming" Instead of "Creature Collector":

The term "monster taming" has a lot of precedent behind it, while creature collector seems to only be present on this platform.

The genre consists of games where you catch, tame, collect, raise, OR utilize monsters in battle, but not always all of these mechanics.

The term "Monster Taming" or "Monster Tamer" has a lot of precedent including the following:

-The annual "Monster Taming Direct", which is a yearly event dedicated to showcasing new games in the genre with nothing, but exclusive developer content.

-The official subreddit for the community is called r/MonsterTamerWorld

-The most viewed monster taming news series is called "Monster Tamer News"

-Monster Taming has a wikipedia page, while Creature Collector does not.

-and all in all, Monster Taming or Monster Tamer are just easier to spell, pronounce and translate.

I've also noticed that whenever typing in "monster tamer" as a steam suggestion, it automatically changes the tag to "creature collector" and have had a lot of people tell me that this has been an issue for them.

We need a unified term for the genre to grow and outside of Steam, the term Creature Collector is only used by those who don't know much about the genre. No Monster Taming enthusiasts really use the tag and steam should reflect this!

I absolutely agree. Monster Taming as a genre is both more specific and more accurate to so many of the games often listed as "creature collecting" games. It's kinda baffling that it's not an official tag.

Also agree with this, Monster Taming is just so much more commonly used and honestly I struggled finding any Mon tamers because it wasn't under the Monster Tamer tag. Honestly would help so many more people find the genre if it was properly tagged by the commonly used term
