I was actually going to link that game here because of the name.
But the tag needs to be use before it is added.
Start tagging!
The term "monster taming" has a lot of precedent behind it, while creature collector seems to only be present on this platform.
The genre consists of games where you catch, tame, collect, raise, OR utilize monsters in battle, but not always all of these mechanics.
The term "Monster Taming" or "Monster Tamer" has a lot of precedent including the following:
-The annual "Monster Taming Direct", which is a yearly event dedicated to showcasing new games in the genre with nothing, but exclusive developer content.
-The official subreddit for the community is called r/MonsterTamerWorld
-The most viewed monster taming news series is called "Monster Tamer News"
-Monster Taming has a wikipedia page, while Creature Collector does not.
-and all in all, Monster Taming or Monster Tamer are just easier to spell, pronounce and translate.
I've also noticed that whenever typing in "monster tamer" as a steam suggestion, it automatically changes the tag to "creature collector" and have had a lot of people tell me that this has been an issue for them.
We need a unified term for the genre to grow and outside of Steam, the term Creature Collector is only used by those who don't know much about the genre. No Monster Taming enthusiasts really use the tag and steam should reflect this!
As a content creator who focuses exclusively on this genre, I have noticed that the term "monster taming" carries a significant amount of historical usage, whereas "creature collector" seems to be unique to this platform.
The genre encompasses games where players can catch, tame, collect, raise, or utilize monsters in battles, although not all of these mechanics are always present.
The terms "Monster Taming" and "Monster Tamer" have a strong precedent, as evidenced by the annual "Monster Taming Direct" event, which showcases new games in this genre with exclusive developer content.
Furthermore, the official subreddit for this community is named r/MonsterTamerWorld, and the most popular news series dedicated to monster taming is called "Monster Tamer News".
It is worth noting that "Monster Taming" has its own Wikipedia page, while "Creature Collector" does not.
In addition, "Monster Taming" and "Monster Tamer" are easier to spell, pronounce, and translate.
I have also observed that when typing "monster tamer" on Steam, the suggestion automatically changes the tag to "creature collector". Many individuals have expressed their frustration with this issue.
Thank you for your consideration!
