Creature collector includes things like aquarium games and zoo games, this is a niche in its own of course, but fitting those types of games together with Digimon Story Cybersleut, Disc creatures, monster crown and many other games doesn't quite seem right.
Some of the users here were told by steam support to make a thread but YES please tag the games as monster taming. One of the problems is that when u tag as 'monster tamer' steam auto changes it to 'creature collector' there's nothing weird or smelly going on here, the original poster is a game dev who has made a monster taming game, and I've pushed for this, so that the genre is easier to find and so that more people use the correct terminology. It's a tag for a genre, it isn't that deep lol
Nothing smelly here, just trying to get steam to use the correct terminology, since they added the tag somewhat recently. Some were told to make a thread bout the issue since tagging games as 'monster tamer' corrects them to 'creature collector', though monster taming still works.
We have been trying to get a unified name for the genre within the community for years and finally achieved it for the most part, only for some people to start randomly calling them CCs because steam decided to use that tag.
The OP is a game dev in the genre, one of many Indies that agree on this.
this is literally just a way to help unify terminology a bit better, not some conspiracy against fishing sims lol
