Remove from Steam all games with blatantpay to win features
Steam features a heavy number of games(mobile games are biggest culprits) wit pay to win mechanics, designed to make people addicted and spend a lot of money.People will probably justify it by saying thisis capitalism, but I would recommend removing all games with pay to win and abusive game as a service mechanics. I know how to hide them but I suggest pushing further, this would send a strong message.

If people want to purchase those types of games they are free to do so, you are also free to not purchase them.

I find it funny that people always 'claim' these things and then when pushed to provide an actual objective criteria, they can't

Or... and this just might be crazy.... you just don't buy them.... Thats what I do. I do not buy games with pay to win stuff in it (basically microtransactions where you can buy something that gives your character an advantage over anyone else playing the game)

Its quite easy to do, see if a game has microtransactions, if they are cosmetic but give damage bonus or better healing or better jump or better anything, avoid them.

If people want to play them, thats up to them. Valve will not remove them, they will not put warnings or anything like that as its up to the players to decide if they are ok with something like that.

P2W? As in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, a game you have played 1235.4 hours.

Even as someone with a ton of hours in that game, I can't disagree.

I don't think that personal preference of a user should dictate what games are or are not on a store. Especially since plenty of people will want to buy those games.

Just hide and ignore the stuff you don't like. As we all do.

It's more about those games using predatory tactics to squeeze money from players.Yes i have 1200 hours in yugioh, but never spent on it, and although it has purchase in games, there are much worse culprits on the store.I recently tried Dungeons Mobile and quickly stopped, as it is almost impossible to ignore the constant attempts to make you spend money(bonus items to reduce timers, optional heroes, crystals,etc...There are many examples of games like that and I view it as a way to import the predatory tactics of gambling into gaming.

I don't like that stuff either, no. But to me that's still not a reason to remove them. People who do like such games, and might even ignore the pay stuff, should be able to get them.

Your suggestion is: "Remove from Steam all games with blatantpay to win features" and that includes Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, which by defintion is predatory due to having a cash shop for gems, whilst ignoring a post agreeing it is P2W (quoted below) from someone who plays the game.

Basically your stance is remove all P2W games i disagree with but not the ones i play.

Konami know it is P2W - Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL is free-to-play with "in-game purchases available", and yet i do not see you asking for it to be removed, after all there are people who buy gems to advance.

Oh but there's an actual objective criteria!
In fact there's MILLIONS of actual (different) objective criteria.

Over the years i've read the most peregine features be accused of being 'blatant P2W'.
I've even read owning hats in TF2 was 'Pay to Win'

You might just be sheltered or not follow gaming, it’s when there are purchasable non-cosmetic items that give a gameplay advantage or increase the chances of victory over other players. That’s what P2W is and It doesn’t matter if you agree with the definition or not or find it funny.

The point they were making was that the op of the thread never provided any examples of P2W games in the opening post, in fact when this topic arises with other threads examples are rarely provided.

Secondly despite your definition which is correct, some claim P2W is any free to play game that has a cash shop, therefore cash shops which only sell "cosmetic skins" are deemed P2W because you have to "purchase" them.

So, a lot of people are just spineless, or don't have any ideas, and they end up as consumption victims.
Choose what to buy and actually be happy with what you have. Stop buying into the bs.

What makes you think everyone's going to agree on what the "much worse culprits" are? I've played and enjoyed many mobile games that are designed entirely around microtransactions without ever spending a single cent. Why should I be denied access to these types of games I might enjoy just because someone else says it crosses an arbitrary line they drew in the sand?

OH yeah, this is totally something that would make sense for Steam to do.
Oh, wait, no it wouldn't!

IT would first have to get rid of all Loot Box Games. :P
