Tuvalu has an outdated flag!
So, this is interesting. I was just browsing through the flags on my steam profile and saw that Tuvalu's flag is outdated. Valve used the 96/97 flag instead of the current one. I just think it's weird nobody noticed. I mean Tuvalu has like 10,000 inhabitants so I guess no one would notice.
You probably don't even know what Tuvalu is. Its level domain is .tv which was bought for a couple of million dollars by some fancy rich guy. The Tuvalian government bought a road and some sand I believe.
Maybe we should start a change.org petition or consult Obama about this.
Outrageous.

Is this the wrong flag? Steam uses GeoNames as it's source for data on countries. Ask them to update it and it will filter through to Steam.

Nah, this one is the correct one. However steam still uses the old one.

6 years later it still hasn't been fixed. I noticed this as well when I set my location to tuvalu as a meme and noticed a (frankly hideous) flag I hadn't seen before. What is really confusing me is how this happened in the first place. their flag changed back to it's pre-1996 form in 1998 i believe, and was well established and likely the first image result by the time steam was released in 2003. (idk if they even had location features back then.)

While completely unrealated i also find it very strange that Tuvalu had an entirely unique flag for a mere two years before switching back to the one with a Union Flag representing their colonial past. kinda a spit in the face to the thousands of Australian and New Zealander activists trying to rally for a new flag.
Perhaps whatever steam employee was in charge of inputing these flags in 2005 or whatever was a big tuvaluan patriot and didnt want to display the flag emblazoned with a symbol of their colonial past. I suppose the chance is non-zero.
