Make the Jester Award Cost 6,000 Points

Just a bit higher than the cost of the 'Take My Points' award. This way, we can reduce posts that were purely made for award farming as people won't have enough points to ridicule anyone. I know one dude who does this under every popular game announcement receiving over 2,000 jester awards & one dude who admitted to making a thread just for Steam points and he walked free with it on CS2 forums.

Jester awards being so cheap decreases the quality of Steam discussions, bait posts will always be here but to a way smaller amount if we make this change. Why should we endorse and promote this behaviour? It's also just a 600 points button whenever you disagree with anyone. I don't think anyone actually gets upset over free points so it's bad even in this situation.

In addition, make the 'Hilarious' award cost 4200 points so they don't resort to spamming hilarious awards. Hot takes are fine, I think? What do you think?

Why does Steam need to do something about people misusing awards? That is on them. They should just go back to reddit where they can downvote things all day long for free.

i dont see how this would reduce bait. it looks like it would just scale down rewards from 100 awards/bait to 10 awards/bait, and since people have been making bait since long before the introduction of awards, i dont understand why anyone would care if they only got 200 successful suggestions instead of 2000.

Remember the problem isn't as much on the people giving the awards as it is on the people hunting for one.

That's bs. Are you such a person giving out awards perhaps? The ones giving the awards are making this possible in the first place, it is 100% on them. The others are simply making use of that opportunity.

It's no BS. We've had it happen under multiple shapes in the past. Like people begging for someone to gift them games.

The demand (which is the annoying part: the spam, the baiting) is not related to the supply. It just take one award/game given (sometimes just the rumor they're being given) to have the demand, the bait, the spam to skyrocket.

A 6K award is going to make baiting for it even more juicy, at the same cost than baiting for a small 300 points one.

So the problem is the "bait and spam" ? That happens without awards too. Idk why people even care. If people want to bait, let them. If other people want to shower them with awards, let them. It's their choice. Why is it a problem?

It should be lowered to 3 points. That way jester farming wouldn't net as much points.

Well, actually the whole awards should be removed as it is. But we all know Valve isn't going to do that.
