On Steam constructive criticism is the foundation of the community - not censorship.
Blizzard's community managers (bad faith actors) are bringing the same abusive tactics they were taught at Blizzard and are using them here on Steam.

For example, Blizzard banned me from the Diablo IV community for simply pointing out to another user that "the game was designed to be so unrewarding that you would be desperate enough to buy cosmetics and that Diablo IV was a $70 game with a free to play model and will never reward you for your time".

The question that should be asked of Valve is, "should Blizzard or developers alike be allowed to participant in this community"? Isn't the whole point of this platform for developer and consumer interaction? Should they be allowed to ban us for having an opinion and why not response to people's concerns? Why just ban them?

I doubt one person could influence Valve to question Blizzard's position on the platform but Valve use to give consumers some kind of power in this community, it brought balance - it doesn't anymore. The conversation is controlled by the wrong people as if them buying out media wasn't bad enough now we gotta get it on Steam.

That is not constructive criticism, that is literally bashing the game.

This is the fandom's favorite pivot. "cosmetics adds no game play value"

The whole point of Diablo is loot and with that pretty cosmetics. There's no iconic set items or loot because that would compete with their cosmetic store. It's also really annoying to hear someone make this argument who's probably never built a runeword or reached a greater rift over 125 or didn't even finish Lilith before season 2. Diablo use to lead the genre now it just copies PoE.

I don't expect people to take it, I expect them to defend their choices and make a good case for it. Blizzard completely ignores the topic because they know if it gets any attention it'll be problematic.

Again I have mentioned the Uber uniques. All have their unique design. Only dropped at much higher levels. They are pretty powerful and comes with maxed out stats.

I have made rune words in Diablo 2 because I played it on launch and for the next 5 years. Expansion was bought on day 1 too. Which is when Rune words where added.
I replayed Diablo 2 when the Remaster came out and completed hell With Amazon class. Tried to farm items but Diablo 2 has unreasonable drop rates for a SP game. We're talking drop rates in the millions of a chance.
Not once have I seen a Zod rune drop or the Legendary Grandfather. Not to mention other drops.
I see Youtube videos of people doing 1000 runs of Mephisto, Baal, Pindleskin, Cow Level, Diablo and more but very rarely get something real good.

Set items in Diablo 2 where mostly crap and odds of getting a full set by the time you needed it is ridiculously low. Next to impossible.

The only reason Diablo 2 used to lead the genre back in the day was because it was basically the only one.

I don't recall what the highest GR I did in Diablo 3 but it was over 100 and it was for a season achievement. I stopped because I kept making the game lag due to my skills doing such high damage the servers couldn't handle it. I've done plenty of seasons in Diablo 3 too.
Didn't need to go higher as the things I needed where perfect rolls on Primal gears.

Diablo 4 isn't copying Path of Exile. Seeing how it is more like Diablo 3 than PoE as it uses more of the Diablo 3 systems.

It isn't riding them by saying it was good they fixed it.

It's just saying it's good they fixed it. Which encourages them to not make the same mistakes.

It's hardcore riding, Diablo IV was rushed to release so investors could cash in before the Microsoft acquisition. That's why instead of leading the genre they just copied PoE and adopted all of it's predatory monetization and asked $70 for it. They got everyone on mass marketing, nostalgia and name recognition alone. I don't respect developers who intentionally cripple a franchise so they could exploit the fandom.

We can blame Bobby Kotick but all of Blizzard's collaborators deserve to be fired. Game directors, lead game designers, Microsoft needs to purge Blizzard in order to win back public trust.

MWIII is another example of a game rush to release so investors could cash in before the acquisition. They stopped funding for Overwatch 2 so they could repackage it and release it on Steam to make ad revenue from streaming services and advertisers. Activision Blizzard's done us so dirty I don't understand why anyone would defend them.
Saying they did a good thing isn't defending them as a whole.

They are two separate ideas.

I'll never understand people who ride developers for fixing their own mistakes. They knew it was bad but tried to get away with it.

They are flagship for everything wrong in the gaming industry and why would anyone want them to bring that culture to Steam?

Already responded to this.
