Please make a "steam servers going down for maintenance" notification for steam.
And then when it's gonna happen in 30 minutes, everyone currently using steam (playing games, downloading, etc.) gets that notifcation, which is like a steam group announcement notifcation, but instead it has a black&red outline around it.

Then at 15 mins remaining, again.

Then at 5.

You wouldn't believe how many people have announcements turned off and even ignore Valve's own blog announcement icon when they announce stuff.

It happens the same time on the same day every week for many years now. Just stop playing for an hour and it's no problem.

Well I'd hope that this would have its own toggle or wouldn't be able to be turned off. either way I know it would help a lot with me and many others.

It's frustrating as hell. spent like 30 mins downloading dead by daylight update just to, THE SECOND I PRESS PLAY, get a "not connected to steam" screen.

If I had gotten an announcement that steam would be down in a bit, earlier, I would've not set my hopes up lol.

and instead stepped away from my pc and let it finish downloading and id play later.

most people have lives...

even for people like me that don't, it's not like I ever remember or know its going to happen...

Same time and day for just about 20 years. Now you know.

No one really plans for it. We just realize what's happening when it does. Annoying? Yeah, kind of. World ending? Hardly.

Even BattleNet gets notifying people ahead of time right. This is one thing that Valve SHOULD do.
