Regional prices and localisation.
I will provide the view on this issue from the perspective of the Ukrainian. But others could have similar problems.

Ukraine is locked up in the same region with russia. We do have a lot of russian speaking people, and I was one of them. But things have changed, it can no longer be the way it was. I understand the logic behind regional prices, I support it. I understand the logic why developers would be happy to make one localisation for russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc etc, and I understand why it's russian.

But can you understand why I want to have absolutely nothing to do with anything russian?

Right now there's "Witcher 2" on sale with a little "(RU)" right next to it, and "Assassin's Creed: Unity" with "purchases made in your region will only receive a russian language".

Please, explain to me the logic here.
Are you trying to discourage people from abusing the regional price system? Don't you have other, more convenient methods to do so?

P.S. Already know the faces of russians reading this. They are enjoying every bit of our suffering, and if they see they are recognised and respected, but we are dismissed — that's just pure heaven for them.

Ask the game developer why.

Ask CDPR and Ubisoft of those "3rd party games" why as they created them, not Valve.

Ask them what exactly?

The reason there is a Russian language version, and why you are restricted to receiving thar version, is due to how the developers/publishers set up their store listings. Steam is simply carrying out the devs request. You need to ask the devs why they set it up that way , and ask them to change it.

I don't see a problem here Ukraine is basically the same as Russia

Yeah, I've Googled, seems like it's their job indeed. They aren't too open to user, are they? Doesn't seem like I'll be able to change the world before the sales end.
