A way to disable the "To use steam overlay in-game, press shift-tab" message.
I would like to disable that specific notification message WITHOUT disabling steam overlay, but currently, there is no way to remove that message while still keeping steam overlay.

I have been using steam for more than a decade and do make use of the steam overlay.
I don't need that message to tell me how to open steam overlay and I don't want to remove the overlay, but that message has become a serious problem.

Every time I open the game "Deep Rock Galactic", that notification covers the "Continue" button to start the game and I have to wait until it disappears in order to be able to start the game.
Even without being that game, that message has been bothersome for years.

I truly believe there needs to be a toggle in Steam Client's preferences to disable that notification every time you open a game without the need of disabling the steam overlay from the game.

i like this suggestion!

it'd be good if each game recognised that the overlay was opened for the first time, and stopped reminding each time you open that game after.

I have steam overlay disabled and still get the stupid popup. Looks like it will never get fixed.

It doesn't block you from clicking the continue button.
