A small man on a huge planet Steam. Part 2
to Part 1

IV. A few other thoughts

How great it would be if Valve, as the main player in the games market, took up the issue of returning old, long-lost games . Games that have served their time, that came out long before Steam. So that there is not only Proton 8.0, but also various program shells, so that you can play long-forgotten games.
I understand that there are copyrights, but the rights holders themselves must understand that their games are the property of the world, just like music and paintings. And Steam can create conditions for their return, because there was so much joy that Windows XP saw. Also take into account that SteamDecks open up a new rethinking of the old.

After all, if you don’t value the old, the new doesn’t gain value.

V. And ending the monologue…

I just want Steam to hear its community. I understand that when money flows like a river, there is no need to change anything. But Steam is the flagship in the world of game stores and has no competitors, so let it remain that way. This is not a burger restaurant where you can choose between several, but a repository of your soul, the history of joint gatherings with friends. Sitting on two platforms as if on two chairs is heartbreaking.

There is no need to solve problems radically, as any dictatorship in the country would do. After all, very often, since the times of the Roman Empire, all crises occurred due to the fact that the government stopped listening to people and sat in its own happy world, full of joys. When the government delegates powers in a divide-and-rule manner, we will see how those powers are neglected at the local level.

I understand that I have stupid thoughts, you can find fault with everything. But I’ve seen so many interesting proposals in the community to improve the platform, but they don’t seem to be heard.
Don’t leave everything to indifference: a Steam profile is a virtual personality for many.

Best regards, your beaver

You don’t seem to actually understand the importance of ownership to the unidentified IP after which you’re pining.
Man, OP took that 1 day community ban hard.

The sun will still rise in the morning. Go play your beaver game and enjoy.

I understand this is funny.

it was not community ban, it was ban from steam itself . Next time for nothing it will make my profile invisible for a year. just because rules are not very transparent

A community ban isn't a ban from Steam.

You can still play/purchase/download your games. You just can't do anything that is considered a community feature.

I think many of them would like money for zero work if there was a port to modern steam from windows xp games.

I dream to see " the matrix path of the neo" on steam

I understand i am so naive

But until recently it was impossible to imagine Windows games playing Linux

Which again is something you would talk to the ip holders about.

I believe that if it were possible to add an ancient game to Steam without changing it thanks to a special shell, then by word of mouth many would want to return the games.

But for now we can only see remakes from enthusiasts. And masterpieces will remain only in our memory
