Dedicated Screenshot button on controllers in-game for Steam

Please add a dedicated function in steam input to assign a screenshot button on the controller itself rather than only have a keyboard option for screenshots

Bonus to be able to assign single press and double press and hold for 3 different functional inputs!

Can this function be re-assigned? A lot of older games on a PS controller use the touchpad for select-start, and the Share button as a dedicated screenshot/save last recording/start recording feature.

Can you re-assign it so that function is just on the Share/Select button for example?

Don't know if you can assign it to just one button.

You'll find it under Settings -> Controller.

Chord keys handle's the guide/PS button hotkeys. For one button you might want to make a custom controller layout instead (and assign it to a game).

I've noticed that it does work, so thanks for the suggestion again

The only issue is the guide button also shares other functions sometimes in games but not often at all, but really just interface things either in steam or the windows game bar for example, and I've noticed using it crashes some games often while pressing the f12 button doesn't do this at all

I could probably make a default mapping to change start/select functions to the touchpad left and right, but unfortunately if the screenshot key can't be assigned to a controller pad a third party program can assign it to f12 I'll see what I can do on a weekend soon maybe 🙂

So I kind of just modified a way to do this by creating a template that also uses Gyro functionality

I assigned F12 to the Share Screen button on the DualSense / DualSense Edge controller, so now the screenshot button works as a screenshot button in this template!

There is also a Gyro for Right stick control which can be turned on and off by clicking R4 (right function button on a DualSense Edge)

If you have a regular dualsense, you can assign this to any other button on the controller, like the right or left touchpad if you want as a touch control or as a pad button press down, or a combination of buttons
