Broken notes feature?

I've been asked by Steam support to contribute here since there is no resolution so far. I've been using the overlay notes feature extensively recently because I was analyzing a game. Turns out it's quite buggy and I've lost access to the notes I had, just for a specific game. I can't even start a new note whereas as I can for all my other games. I think the problems started when I pasted some screenshots into the notes. I think it might have corrupted the features functionality. Anyone else encounter problems like this?!
