Posts Removed for Disrespect

Posts considered disrespectful by a computer program get removed in response to post that are also disrespectful. Somehow Steam has had an identity crisis and believes it is gamers' Mommy. So, it then chooses to pick a side and completely remove one of the person's comments without any way to contest or prevent the decision to remove you from the conversation which is the most disrespectful thing to happen in this entire chain of events. 2 people having it out with each other or 1 person acting like their mom.... Who is more disrespectful exactly? The people engaging one another or pushing them around?

Someone else breaking the rules is not an excuse for you to break the rules. That's like saying why do I have to pay for my groceries because I saw someone else steal groceries....

If it's a game hub mod, you can reply to the notice or contact the Developer.
If it's a steam mod or support member, What you say & how you say it is often the difference between a normal visible post, and one removed with a warning or bans being applied.

Fair enough on it being not automated. The fact that it's so easy to remove a differing opinion based off of "disrespect" because your feelings got hurt is the absurdity then. It's no wonder there's so many mediocre products when damn near every discussion board on a game removes a post the second it's critical and not jerking off the target of the post in some way.

That's known as a double negative; if the moderation team and rules say not to basically do such, escalating it to basically "if you disagree you're a (thing)" will only make further action happen. The forum is to have civil discussions, so if there's civility rules one only has to just be civil to not get into trouble. It really is that simple.

The goal is to have fun in the games, not create arguments, try to be "Edgy" or otherwise ruin the fun for others - since people having fun sells more copies than people angrily abusing others out of mere disagreement with their own views.

Ask in the game hub or ask the Developer. Regardless, yes, if a page literally says unsportsmanlike conduct then it's not allowed. If you do not agree to the rules of the game, do not purchase the game, or do not play multiplayer, else disable voice & chat entirely especially if one is prone to act in rude manners to others or respond in aggressive manners.

Even RUST has rules, and people are most definitely banned from their game servers or the game itself for unacceptable or repeated bad behavior. Community Servers, it's up to whoever runs that server, but content in the game made by a player (painting on a sign, text entries) can still be submitted to the Developer and earn game bans, as an example.

The forums have its own set of rules, which applies across steam broadly. Best to read and follow them, else not use the functions.

There's having a discussion, then there's angrily demanding of others.
One is a conversation, the other is not.

The rules are listed on the right pane of the forums on almost every page. There can be community wide bans which disables the ability to do basically anything other than play games on steam and use of the chat, which is a privilege that can also be revoked.

I don't suppose the saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do.", comes to mind? IE if you go onto someone else's property and they have rules that you ignore, and all you do is sit around and justify breaking the rules and believe the system should change to accommodate you, well, that's some prime example snowflake behavior there, since we're so keen to cast that around in a derogatory manner anytime someone has opinions about stuff.
