Forum PvPers should pay money to use steam forums
There are some instigators who play steam forums as a pvp game. They have their little clan that go attack people together on the forums. Why can they play this "game" for free? It should be free for everyone else but not for the instigators.
Typical tendencies for instigators is 1000 posts per day in every topic and they always support steam and defend devs and report everyone and they never get banned themselves because they have mods support.
So I think they should have to pay money if they play this forums like a PvP game.
But normal users who are here to have good faith discussions and end up getting banned, we should not have to pay. Normal users pay money for real games already and they don't think of steam forums as a game. But those instigators are getting to play this steam forums pvp game for free at the expense of all other users suffering, so we should at least make those instigators have to pay money for playing forums as a pvp game instead of coming here for good faith discussions like everyone else.

How long can you call it a "conspiracy theory" if more and more people come out and state their observation:
- questionable posts go long time unmoderated, if action is ever taken
- some users get very often into arguments and heated discussions
- the other side usually gets banned sooner or later despite staying just as "civil" as them
- and in the midst of it you will see the same very few users every time

I might not have moderator experience, but if somebody in bar or club gets punched in the face every week and security has to throw out the one who punched them, chances are that *they* are the problem and the "agressors" would have behaved perfectly fine without them.
And if you keep these people in, your business will suffer.

Valve needs to pull together and start giving a ♥♥♥♥.
About everything. The countless issues with the Steam client and store, the number of low effort games that make people avoid indie games, following regulations isntad of fighting them or trying to weasel out, the behaviour of some developers on this platform, and yes, the community in these discussion boards. Not only the general ones, but also in the popular games' hubs. It's their house, their name is on the letterbox.
i like your example of a bar. I imagine it like this... the bar is called "the instigators club". They just sit around there bored all day until a soon to be victim finally walks into the bar. The victim orders a beer, pays for it and then the instigator comes up and drinks and says get me another one.
The victim says what the hell. then the instigator says watch your mouth, we dont tolerate that kind of talk. you like getting punched in the face?
then the victim gets his guard up and says bring it!! then the bouncers come and kick and punch the victim to the ground and then when the victim cant move anymore they throw him out and say "you're banned for starting a fight". The victim manages to barely say "they stole my drink and threatened to punch me", then the bouncer says "he only asked if you like getting punched, that is not a threat, hope you learned your lesson" says the bouncer with a big grin and walks in laughing. Then the instigator comes out and says "see, i didnt break any rule, you heard it yourself from the bouncer". Thats steam forums. Bouncers are the mods.

:WH3_greasus_rofl::lol: This is not only accurate, but also comedy gold.

Over 9000..... Couldn't resist

Although I do agree with the OP. Everyone should be required to pay for forum use, and those who do not pay aka free accounts should be severely limited. Good idea OP I made a similar one here - https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/3877095833475334752/

Forum PVP'ers already pay the same $5 as everyone else. Have you read the FAQ on how accounts work and who gets access to the forum? It would answer a lot of your questions and clear your confusion

I think they should charge people who rack up repeated bans. After this first few bans they have to pay if they want to regain forum use.

Hmmm....about after a certain number of bans you are fined per ban afterwards.
Say $5. The amount would be applied to your steam wallet balance.
If your Wallet Balance is less than $0 you will not be allowed to post in any but the Help Forum. This would only apply to the main hubs,. Game hum forums have tyhier own thing going.

Your post history is public.
this is proof of what I talk about in the OP. Instantly the topic is attacked and derailed off topic by someone wanting to turn this into a different topic he already created: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/6367585698108284976/

Who has ever suggested in this thread that there be post limits of any kind? Although I do concur and think its an excellent idea. Your claims don't seem to be very accurate or backed up by any facts.....

Well techniocally charging the pVPers would inherently limit them.

If "forums PvP'ers" had to pay to use the forum, wouldn't that make the forums 'pay-to-win'?

Can't win iif you can't play.
Ironically this could be a genius move. Monetizing internet forum bickering. Dear gods a company could see millions in revenue overnight.

pay because you enjoy the game you want to play, not because you want to throw random jokes at video game playing adults. forums being pay to use would kill any forum.

don't let a killer unicorn kill your forum with a pay to post scheme.

If i had a nickel for every time someone accused moderators of bias or people of being bots....
