Forum PvPers should pay money to use steam forums
There are some instigators who play steam forums as a pvp game. They have their little clan that go attack people together on the forums. Why can they play this "game" for free? It should be free for everyone else but not for the instigators.
Typical tendencies for instigators is 1000 posts per day in every topic and they always support steam and defend devs and report everyone and they never get banned themselves because they have mods support.
So I think they should have to pay money if they play this forums like a PvP game.
But normal users who are here to have good faith discussions and end up getting banned, we should not have to pay. Normal users pay money for real games already and they don't think of steam forums as a game. But those instigators are getting to play this steam forums pvp game for free at the expense of all other users suffering, so we should at least make those instigators have to pay money for playing forums as a pvp game instead of coming here for good faith discussions like everyone else.

How long can you call it a "conspiracy theory" if more and more people come out and state their observation:
- questionable posts go long time unmoderated, if action is ever taken
- some users get very often into arguments and heated discussions
- the other side usually gets banned sooner or later despite staying just as "civil" as them
- and in the midst of it you will see the same very few users every time

I might not have moderator experience, but if somebody in bar or club gets punched in the face every week and security has to throw out the one who punched them, chances are that *they* are the problem and the "agressors" would have behaved perfectly fine without them.
And if you keep these people in, your business will suffer.

Valve needs to pull together and start giving a ♥♥♥♥.
About everything. The countless issues with the Steam client and store, the number of low effort games that make people avoid indie games, following regulations isntad of fighting them or trying to weasel out, the behaviour of some developers on this platform, and yes, the community in these discussion boards. Not only the general ones, but also in the popular games' hubs. It's their house, their name is on the letterbox.
i like your example of a bar. I imagine it like this... the bar is called "the instigators club". They just sit around there bored all day until a soon to be victim finally walks into the bar. The victim orders a beer, pays for it and then the instigator comes up and drinks and says get me another one.
The victim says what the hell. then the instigator says watch your mouth, we dont tolerate that kind of talk. you like getting punched in the face?
then the victim gets his guard up and says bring it!! then the bouncers come and kick and punch the victim to the ground and then when the victim cant move anymore they throw him out and say "you're banned for starting a fight". The victim manages to barely say "they stole my drink and threatened to punch me", then the bouncer says "he only asked if you like getting punched, that is not a threat, hope you learned your lesson" says the bouncer with a big grin and walks in laughing. Then the instigator comes out and says "see, i didnt break any rule, you heard it yourself from the bouncer". Thats steam forums. Bouncers are the mods.

:WH3_greasus_rofl::lol: This is not only accurate, but also comedy gold.

Saw a few of them get caught today and banned, so no worries its happening. Just as already stated the instigators aren't whom some people want it to be and some users shouldn't be surprised to find those who echo agreements with some of their ideas to be the "instigators" they want removed.
if they get banned its a normal user aka a victim. instigators are moderators or friends of moderators or ex-mods. Otherwise the instigators would get banned but they don't no matter how much they break the rules several times every day. Also if they can spend 20 hours every day making 1000+ posts, that means they must be living on welfare or they get paid to be a moderator. All logic and evidence supports this.

Evidence to support your claims? I mean its laughable that your literally claiming everyone getting banned is innocent... That a random 3rd party company whom steam doesn't even control hiring over is somehow having every one of thier employees friends with users on steam and are all coordinating to attack those poor innocent users....

Oh and of course your dog ate the evidence, but we should TOTALLY take you and the people who repeatedly get banned for rule breaking at their words because no one would EVER lie or make something up...

Also please show us a post history of someone posting 1000+ posts a day. There are posting limits on steam that prevent that so your claim is flat out false. Posting a link to a user who posts alot is not accusation, nor does it break any steam rules before you claim otherwise.

I mean heck, here is mine - https://steamcommunity.com/id/Brian9824/posthistory/

I didn't even manage to hit 10% of your claim, so i'll be real curious to see who could post 1000+ times a day.

i like what you are saying, there is a problem with it though, if this steam puppet/instigator is spending 20 hours every single day of the year to make 1000+ posts every day
That's making a post every 80 seconds, for 24 hours straight.

You may be overestimating the post volume of people. I'm a pretty heavy poster here, but as per the Steam Replay stats last year I made a bit shy over 1900 posts.
in a whole year. That's only 5 posts a day on average.

GASP, you mean someone twisting the truth to serve an ulterior motive and/or fabricating stuff with no evidence? NOOOOO that NEVER HAPPENS and its TOTALLY unheard of

ye you are fine, nothing to worry about, but look at this topic, who has made more than half of every post in this topic? is that same user responsible for half of the posts in every single other topic as well?

Have you heard of "forum regulars"? You know, people who like spending their time on a forum? Every forum have those. And you are one too, looking at amount of arguing you got into lately...

So yes, I agree you should be forced to pay for using this forums.

No one has made more then half the posts in this topic, you might want to recheck your math....

Also no one in this thread has remotely come close to 1000+ posts a day or any of your other claims, so again, can you provide any evidence to back up any of your claims? You keep asking others for evidence but refuse to provide any yourself and keep making false claims

Why won't you provide any evidence, or numbers that aren't made up?

its funny to see you get so defensive, its as if its common knowledge for everyone exactly who the topic is about, dont need to say any name because everyone knows.

choice is important, you should treat each comment as positive, and not force a agenda, or use a flawed system of voting by a closed group of people to pass an idea that only you and your small group want.

it turns the steam forums into a falsity and makes it into a abusive part of steam that punishes people for no reason. rogue moderation should be taken care of with the upmost urgency.

this issue i am sure represents also how the OP feels when asking for "shaddy manipulative posting from old steam accounts to have to pay"

I think, that we should rather revise a fee for f2p alts spammed by some individuals.

sorry i wouldn't pay it, but if you really want me to not be a part of the steam forums, you could always ask politely and i will consider it in the future.

be warned it might take me several years, this is steam we are talking about, things take time.

The topic is about charging money from a small group of instigators, then a small group attack the topic, what a surprise. All the normal users knows what is up, i dont know what you are trying to accomplish, who are you trying to convince? Everyone knows the truth, its obvious.

pay because you enjoy the game you want to play, not because you want to throw random jokes at video game playing adults. forums being pay to use would kill any forum.

don't let a killer unicorn kill your forum with a pay to post scheme.
Only for those who constantly break the rules. Normal users likely wouldn't even notice the change, beyond the forums suddenly becoming more pleasant.

Can't win iif you can't play.
Ironically this could be a genius move. Monetizing internet forum bickering. Dear gods a company could see millions in revenue overnight.
Except that the group of instigators is extremely small, its just a few individuals really, and its actually just 1 of them who is a problem, the rest wouldnt be anything without that special instigator who sacrifice his life to spend 20 hours every day of his life making 1000+ posts every day.
So maybe the cost should be per post for that instigator.
So Again. How muchshould you be charged?
You seem to keep dodging the question.

Then these instigators do not exist. so who's these supposed to affect, I mean.Your own criteria rules out pretty much the entirety of the forum..unless you have any evidence to the contrary.

Or maybe because the spam reporting you and others engage in really don't work because the moderators have long learned to notice the behaviour patterns of some users.

And they've probably also started that when certain individuals receive lengthy bans the forums become surprisingly less toxic.

there is not that many normal users on steam, thats the problem, what we see here posting consists of typically over the top steam accounts that don't represent steams user base but represent steam company.
