better get used to just ignoring them and not replying, even if you are feeling offended ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It appears you neglected to read the full thread before commenting. As also mentioned by myself and others it also applies to stuff you just don't care about. The current solution of ignoring it is an option, however fortunately steam provides a nifty place where we can discuss ideas to enhance the client and make it better.
Glad to see you also support the idea, hopefully we will get this one implemented.
Then they link me to their ToS and rules. I'm also not sure what the rules or ToS page should tell me? I didn't break any rules?
Maybe Support/Mods should have a look at EU/German law as i told them several times now and even linked to it.
Removal of posts and such have to be explained and comprehensive to the user. You know what that means Valve? Do you understand simple english?
Gosh, you mods/support are something else.
Think your in the wrong thread, this isn't about your drama with support. So i'll just put you down for being in favor of the idea.
Heh apparently others feel the same way
The signal-to-noise ratio in new, high end games can be abyssmal...
nobody forces your eyes to read and go into thread, unless its a job or something. i don't see why you would want to inflict painful forum reading upon yourself.
none of us are robots there is no reason to hide anything when you can just look away and ignore things, pretend its your wife or your bills both have in the past been known to be ignored often by gamers.
Though with some of the people that insist on being on the front page by spamming threads or spam bumping threads, as much as I was originally not really for it, I can see why this could be a band-aid feature until they begin removing all the people blatantly trolling & award farming to deal with the issue permanently.
its a troll if you go around calling everyone trolls showing no actual proof of trolling and just using trolling as a excuse to want to get your way.
Lets all just grow up a little, it steam forum, its steam, where scammers gather to steal game items, and where free players gather to play games, where nobody really uses the forum, and where you can buy a game for windows 7 but you can't play it on windows 7 in 2 months.
dude you just need to stop with the troll talk, your becoming a troll by continuing to make steam out to be incompetent about how it handles people.
Nobody is a troll your just paranoid over a forum, people have a opinion my man, deal with it like an adult please.
Sometimes band aids can be quite effective, it might not eliminate all the issues but its a step in the right direction
Alternatively, you can exercise some self control and refrain from opening them. Isn't that what people say about blocking?
It's still clutter on the frontpage. Say if you go to a board where biat and troll posts are frequently. I now have to shift through pages to find topics I'd actually be interested in engaging in.
Hiding topics completely that you have no interest in will do this, simply blocking all conversations and seeing everything listed as "Topic was created by someone you blocked" instead of what they actually posted does not.
Not to mention, you may not necessary want to hide everything the person who created a topic in the first place. Maybe it's just one particular thing on the front page that he created you're just not interested in.
