Notification for when someone unfriends you.
Hey,

I have a big friends list, and when someone removes me it's hard, in fact impossible, to know who did.

I'd really like to receive a notification with "X removed you from their friends" or something close to that.

Thanks for reading.

No. Some people don't want their departure announced.

Then add an option for privacy for that kind of thing.

Only if the person unfriending someone gets to choose if the other side get's a message about it or not. If they don't want to notify the person who's being unfriended, then that's their choice.

Should be something then with a toggle on both sides. A toggle for the person doing the unfriending, so they can choose whether they want to broadcast it or not. And a toggle for the person being unfriended, so they can choose whether they want such messages to begin with.

I, for one, wouldn't want both. So, options.

Then don't be surprised when things don't change and you're still not notified when people leave because people don't want to notify you.

At least the choice will be there.

Why do you want to know who unfriends you?

Does it even matter if someone unfriends you?
Especially if OP can't even tell who did based on the size of their friends list.

Why not?

The unfriending doesn't matter, why matters.

The only reason not to give a reason is that you know it will sound petty. If people unfriend you, leave them alone. You don't need to know who they are.

Speak for yourself. I'd like to know who they are.

Again, optional. As in, *you* don't need to know.

They can send a chat if they wanted to.

Well obviously if I'm asking for such notification, it's because they didn't send anything, making it impossible for me to know who removed me.

I don't think you understand what an "option" is.

You remind me of those people who are absolutely against online multiplayer because all they play is local.

Nobody is forcing you into anything. In fact I'm wondering why "standard" users even replied to my thread, which was clearly directed towards Valve, and not them.

They already have an option to send the chat before dipping out. They chose not to.

The option is already available.
