Poll: Maximum period for a game on "Coming soon"..
Several games I wishlisted have been on a "Coming soon" status for more than a year!
I think this is ridiculous and a maximum period should be implemented by steam.

Am I the only one irritated by this? :steamsad:

Not bothered by it at all. I don't think anything needs to be changed.

And what does it matter? Either they don't show up, and it doesn't cost you money and they sit on your wishlist for ever till you remove them, or they finally show up and you buy them anyway...

Also since your wishlist is empty I couldn't tell which games you were talking about.

If they're working on it and intend to release it, it's "coming soon". In many cases they can't know exactly how much time it will take to complete and/ore there are delays due to any number of circumstances. Considering no harm is done by a game being seen as "coming soon" for longer than hoped, I don't see this being changed.

better that they label it as coming soon, or only release a demo, than the dozens of dead cash grabs that put out inferior alpha tests as "full games" with promises to add support and features, then left the empty hollow games as is forever

I don't have a problem with it. The maximum time is whatever time the devs decide the game is ready for release (Unless you are CIG, then you need to get rid of your grifting founder and get someone in charge who can actually finish a game on their own). Games get rushed out enough thanks to publishers, we don't need the community to add to that (unless you are CIG, of course).

I'd rather see "Coming Soon" than something be out on too early of a state for release or early access.

As some devs say, "it'll be out when it's ready".

At least Valve put a stop to the devs putting down stuff like, Coming Soon "Whenever we feel like it" and made it a bit less obnoxious...

3 months is "soon" anything longer is not really soon.

This is VERY true. I understand the frustration of the OP. It irritates me to see a game I'm awaiting the release of continually shoving off the release date, but better that then these loser Early Access games that are half-baked at best, not really even ready for release, often are left there to die after getting your money, sometimes they play with them some more, but there is NO incentive to fix the bugs or finish the game, if they already have our cash.

I've seen you posting comments elsewhere. Your Steam level is 0, yet you seem to know a lot about what's going on here. I do not want to speculate aloud. Just an interesting contradiction.

All friends only and private profiles show as level 0 because it is also hidden by the privacy settings.
