See Who Gave You an "Award" or Mark Your Stuff as "Funny"
I've had someone go through and mark every single thing of mine as funny or give me the jester award. Most of these are not remotely funny. This is cyber-bullying, and Steam has set-up the perfect environment to encourage it. If I could see who it was, I could block them. Alas, all I can do is make everything for friends only, cutting out the entire community for one mentally-ill person.

Please make it possible to see who is cyber-bullying me or at least that I can block that person directly from their bullying behavior on my reviews, comments, profile and such.

Blocking someone doesn't prevent them from being able to give you awards. Just enjoy the free points and move on.

As mentioned before in other threads like this, its not going to happen. It used to happen in e-mail but was quickly stopped because people retaliating against perceived slights and sending lots of reports to steam support about harassment which always went no where.

Personally I would rather they just get rid of the entire thing as I think the awards were a huge mistake. Its just created more spam and junk posts then did anything helpful.

Also the louder you complain about getting jesters, the more jesters you will get. Just ♥♥♥♥ it up and enjoy the free points people give you. If you let people get to you with the jesters they win. I suggest you delete this suggestion before it hits 7 posts cause you will more then likely end up with more jesters from people who think this is a funny post, which will just tick you off more, but you know what, its their opinion and thats how they can show they think its funny.

Personally I laugh at people who give me jesters, they are just wasting their points on me. Heck I don't even use the points that often. But I also don't make a fuss.
If you block a person on Steam, then they are unable to see, let alone post awards on, your forum posts. As the blocker of a person you can still see the posts of the person who you have blocked.

So, I block O/P, then O/P gets notified that I reply to their comment but they see nothing on their thread. (Hypothetical situation, obviously.)

Steam will not allow users to limit what others can see.

Blocking does not and should not stop anyone else from seeing your posts on a public forum. You should not control what other people can see on the public forums.

Blocking a person only stops YOU from seeing their posts and thats the way it should be.

Also there would be a super easy way around that block... load up the post in a browser that you are not logged in to the steam forums on. Or just log in under a different account.

Okay, back to the subject at hand. I have just given an award to the person in this thread that I have blocked from seeing my posts. The mad scientist to be exact.

I am not doing it to be obnoxious. Just prove the O/P's point that a person can block you, still see your posts in the forum and award you any kind of award.

Congrats we already knew this, and it is by design. This is a public forum and all posts made here are PUBLIC. Blocking will never remove someone's ability to use the forums.

That is not a power ANY user should have.

This is NOT cyberbulling. Stop labelling everything as cyberbulling! It will become just like the word "transphobe" where people used it for any situation even if it didn't fit and nobody took it seriously anymore.

Cyber-bullying is never okay. Steam needs to make blocking an answer. You just wasted your time getting on here to belittle someone else's concerns. Congratulations. You are part of the problem.

Going and marking EVERYTHING as funny, when it is not meant to be funny is cyber-bullying, kids. In a society where I cannot call a he-she he or she, you think THIS behavior is okay, and you had to comment to what? FORCE your viewpoint on me? Did you think I would change my perspective because YOU say so?
