Try next 2 years....
There's seven and a half months until 1 January, actually.
But while the topic will change, the demands that Valve cede control of Steam to the ex-customer forum populists will continue.
This is becoming just a farce.
It's called a legacy launcher so XP and above are modern enough for it and not pure kernels.
A lot of users are at XP still and playing their games offline, while at it, this will solve that too.
There's no reason why there can't be a soft-disconnected Steam that keeps all Library functionality and ignores literally everything else not essential to just running a game.
Asking for that is literally asking for the sun, the moon, and the stars in the sky after being given $20.
This is getting beyond silly.
I feel as though the people who get this wild and wacky should be detained by the CIA.
For a few centuries.
So true, I can't believe some dream of such technical genius and innovation at this date, we are planning for Mars civilization, AI and quantom computers at the moment, legacy launchers are way into the future.
It really is way too above and beyond.
The entire point is that it's effectively 95% offline. It wouldn't need to be maintained at that point. It's borderline giving a simplified UI to SteamCMD. It's wild to me that you or anyone else is against a concept as basic "can my game still run".
So tell me, how long will it be until you start suggesting that you can't connect to Steam until you have literally the most recent windows update that might only be 2 hours old?
Asking for not-nonexistent backwards compatibility is worthy of the Assange treatment?
If anything it seems it's not dying because mods haven't opted for merging threads so it looks there's a lot of activity, but for the most part is duplicate discussions with the same people posting in them.
