Custom animated profile pics

Probably it has been suggested already cause it seems like a thing people would want, but here's my idea for implementation.
Now with the resent release of counter strike 2, animated profile pics are actually animated in-game. So now the demand for animated profile pics will actually increase.
The problem is that there are 1100+ animated profile pics, yet me and my friends dont like 99.99% of them. So we end up scrolling through so many and we dont find anything we like, its a waste of time. The remaining 0.01% we like are still not really worth buying but we dont mind them.
So i would say we should be able to buy the ability to upload custom animated profile pics/gifs with steam points, just like we can buy extra showcases and themes.
It should probably cost anywhere from 5k to 10k points

People seem to be forgetting that there are platforms that literally offer you to upload custom GIF avatars and not force you to buy one from a store that someone made, also I've seen literal copyright infringing material on Points Shop so that argument is out the window that having a custom GIF avatar would be a violation of copyrights. I agree that moderating would be much more of a hassle but it's not impossible as platforms like Discord have shown. As to people abusing, what is not abused? Exploits exists and will exist and that's why there are rules enforcing what is allowed and what is not allowed. I'm not saying Steam should just not give a ♥♥♥♥ because "what's the point" but I don't see how having GIF avatar would be any more problematic than GIF artwork, etc. I believe having a system that allows custom GIF avatars on Steam is possible, it just needs some time to be implemented to patch possible loopholes.

It's way too much of a hassle to implement something like this. People can sneak in inappropriate images for a fraction of a frame

yes ok ok you are 100% correct. its an amazing idea that will never be instantly abused by 1000s of people the second it goes live.

That aside, anyone who does look for it will see it. Not that this will be implemented.

It's not even a point. There's plenty of threads of people complaining their profile pictures were removed and were unable to change it for a certain amount of time because it violated the rules.

Custom animated avatars make it harder to detect those that do break the rules, as mentioned before.
