Don't expect any animated User Generated Content. Valve seems to want to restrict it to Points Shop items made by developers.
so eventually there will be like 10k avatars and searching through everything will be such a pain, there arent even filters that can help u find what u want, there's only filters for the game
what? ppl already use images from google xD Being animated or non animated has no difference in terms of copyright violations
thats how much it would cost to moderate it.
it doesnt need moderation
yours now costs $150 per month, deal?
explain why it would need extra moderation xd
yours is now $200 and you can no longer afford it.
u realize the feature for custom uploads already exists? :DDD
this thread is about custom animated profile avatars. this feature will add additional strain on current moderation and they are not equipped for it.
adding millions more reports costs money.
What? Where did i admit i used a picture that i didnt get permission to use? I said "ppl use" And nope, i didnt provide a reason why it shouldnt be added. Tell me what your reasoning is. If i upload a still image or an animated image, where's the difference? :D How does only the animated one have copyright issues lol
"this feature will add additional strain on current moderation " You could't be more wrong, if i wanted to use a profile pic from an anime or a movie, whatever, the pic itself being still or animated has no different impact in terms of how many reports you get. And an animated one wouldnt be any more vulnerable in terms of copyright compared to a still image. It has no difference. So you are using literally 0 logic here.
Also "millions", really? :D millions ??? :D
eram was a former Global volunteer moderator and would know this more than regular users.
