Option to "Block All" users in a discussion thread
Sometimes I come across a discussion on the steam message boards, and I know immediately that I will want to block the person who made the post, as well as all other users who have replied to it. However, it is highly inconvenient to have to scroll through each comment and block the users one by one. I suggest a "Block All" button in an easily visible and accessible location, with no limit on the number of users you can block at any one time.

Many people here have no interest in improving steam, they just want to shout down every suggestion that people make, in order to feed their own ego.

When did I say I disliked it? or you for that matter? I didn't. I merely said I can't agree with your suggestion and then explained why.

Or.... you could just not bother with that post.

No I don't think there should be a block all button. You want to block 30 or 50 people or what ever, then deal with the pain of blocking that many.

For all you know there are a bunch of good posts in there that you agree with from others who you would also be blocking.

That makes no sense, arbitrarily blocking everyone in a thread would just lead to people blocking people they didn't mean to because they didn't notice one post by one user.

This literally makes no sense ever to say you need.
No one can ever claim there can be a thread that bad. Ever.

Well.. there are the people that make REALLY bad suggestions and are shocked when everyone that posts points out how bad it is and none of them will say anything good about it and then they start screaming and ranting about how a few people are always against any idea....

How many times have we seen threads and people like that...

And a few weeks after that feature were added, we will see users who is wondering why they never get any response when they post a topic.

Seems like a pointless feature to me.

How about learning to just ignore threads you do not like.

That is a very good point!

If you want to block everyone (or a large number of) people posting in a discussions thread maybe it'd be time to consider if forum threads are the appropriate channel for you to communicate.

i would say it's better not to add a "block all button".
then, while you're blocking each individual in the thread... you can use that time to question why you're in that thread at all, or even why you're in that forum at all...

Can't agree with this. You'd have no idea who your blocking as you haven't even seen a name let alone what they said.

Simplest solution is to not even bother clicking to view the thread

It's funny. I've never felt that way before, but after reading your post. I think it's a great idea. :dbzk_kmha1:

The fact is that I am just trying to make suggestions to improve my experience on steam. It's funny that people would comment saying I should ignore the thread I don't like, when they have clicked on a thread they don't like to come and tell me they don't like my idea.
Many people here have no interest in improving steam, they just want to shout down every suggestion that people make, in order to feed their own ego.

People tend to point out the flaws in ideas that are bad. Something that blindly cut out 100+ users on a block list without a user even knowing if they should be blocked for instance is a bad idea

You just said that this idea it to improve Steam for you, not for everyone.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

So you want a way to silence those who do not agree with you. Nahh don't see that ever be possible, after all it's a public forum open to everyone who is in good standing.

What you look for is a blog or make your own group.
