Specify that developers can see refund reasons and notes

Currently, when refunding a game, while there are options to specify a refund reason and add additional details, it isn't mentioned anywhere that the actual game developer can see this feedback - and the general consensus I've seen on the internet is that people assume that only Valve can see this feedback, to determine whether the refund request is actually valid.

I have also seen at least one developer ask users to specify exactly why they're refunding a game if they choose to get a refund, due to a lack of useful input in the refund notes provided by the users, with users responding that they weren't even aware that developers could see the feedback provided.

Developers would likely get better feedback if the user was made aware that they can see the feedback users provide when asking for a refund, and users would be more informed about what parties have access to the feedback they submit.

I always thought that it was only the developer that could see the refund feedback, since it is they who are losing out on the sale - but I guess that Valve would also see it since they need to process the refund.

When viewing refunds, you can look at details of what players had to say when they requested a refund. These are initially broken down by category, which you can expand to see specific written notes left by players.

If they specifiy things they should warn people that gifted copies or free games don't count towards review score..

Completely irrelevant to the topic. Op asked for a way to let devs see the reason for refunds, they were shown that they already see this. Your issue is something different completely, perhaps post your own topic regarding it so op can get back to their topic.
