Silent startup for Steam
Since one of the last patches Steam window loads on Windows startup to show store, promotions or whatnot, it does so very slowly and is a real nuisance tbh. In my case I just disabled Steam to start with Windows from today on. Most people do much more than just play Steam on their PCs, having Steam occupy half of your time loading the system and having to close the window each time is a great inconvenience in my humblest opinion.
The reason I want it to start with the system is for the games to start faster when I want to play, not because first thing I want to see on my desktop is Steam store.

Well, I can't find the option. And I didn't change anything.
Do you know where the setting is?

Thank you very much.
Still, that's not a user-friendly solution to say the least.

Oh, and it didn't work

100% works for me, use the desktop shortcut before trying to move it to your taskbar or anywhere else
also check to make sure you added a single space after the "

example
"D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -silent

Yes, that's how I did it, it still doesn't launch silently:

Either it's some setting I don't know about, or it has something to do with Steam or Windows version. My specs:
Windows 11 home 64bit
Steam Version: 1687386907
Steam Client Build Date: Wed, Jun 21 6:21 PM UTC -08:00
Steam Web Build Date: Wed, Jun 21 6:26 PM UTC -08:00
Steam API Version: SteamClient020

In the beta...

Fixed client window opening at login or when started with -silent flag for certain startup locations

Steam says I am up to date, includes this in the patch notes, and is definitely still ignoring the silent flag for me. Clearly, they don't want me using their client.

It ignores the silent parameter for me also, so I created a batch file that runs the client at startup in the system tray (small mode).

Two lines of script and one location file, as opposed to fixes that include registry modifications and executable shortcut mods, lol.

I will stick with my simple (and easily removable) solution until Steam Valve fixes this minor client startup issue.

I've got the same Steam Version and API as you on Win10.
Yet I don't care for the new UI as it lacks the music library and music player. The In game Shift/Tab is fun bells and whistles but I like my music and not seeing the splash screen in you Vid.

I achieve the -silent launch and old reliable in game UI as seen above.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -silent -vgui

I was searching for a solution.
And while reading this thread, I found a solution here :

https://leo3418.github.io/2023/07/15/minimize-steam-for-game-shortcuts.html

Spoiler : you need to edit the registry, so steam will ALWAYS launch minimized.

this isnt a new thing... but yes, its super annoying. it also forces to top as well so even if I grab my firefox browser to wait for steam to load is shoves its way back into my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ eyes like a salesmen forcing their way through the door. rude... makes me want to eject it out of my life.
