If you consider those money, why shouldn't your employer pay you in SteamPoints?

Then why do you expect the developers of the games to be happy to be paid with SteamPoints?
And are you really suggesting paid demos? That idea is even more ridiculous.

OP's second suggestion isn't very outlandish in a world where services like Game Pass exists. It wouldn't be "paid demos" either. It would be a subscription to gain time limited access to full games.
Steam would never implement something like that, but it's not as ridiculous as you seem to believe it is.
