Still need a way to remove unwanted Steam Stickers
Valve/Steam,
It's been years since you dumped virtual Stickers into Players' inventories in past Summer Sales events and such.
Would you finally create a way to permanently delete unwanted Inventory items? Matter of fact - make it possible to permanently delete ANY Steam inventory item that is unwanted, and that a Steam customer just wants to go away without attempts at trading/selling them off.

In the case of these Stickers - they can't be traded or marketed, so they're all just stuck and taking up slots in inventories. You probably should have thought about how they could be removed before you added them into the Steam experience.

As mentioned many times already in many other threads deleting stuff like that is not good idea. An advanced hide that does exactly what you want but also gives people the ability to get back their items if a hijacker or someone else gets into their account and decides to do as much damage as they can.

If you don't want the stickers, why did you bother clicking on the "claim the sticker" button. Its not like they are added to your account without you actively clicking something. Maybe they didn't bother to include a way to remove them because they didn't think people would click on the button if they didn't want them.

Anyway as mentioned, an advanced hide would do what you want because you could hide something and if you never want to see it again you never have to see it again. But if you want it back, you can get it back with a bit of digging.

You have unlimited steam account inventory space. You can use the search bar or category checkboxes to narrow down search results. If you want a real example of inventory clutter, just look at any high-level account's inventory of trading cards.

In that case we may as well just stop people from being able to launch games in case someone hijacks it and cheats getting them banned. Or trading in case a hijacker trades them away. Or buying things, in case a hijacker buys games with their money.

Account security is the responsibility of the end user.

Account security as mentioned is the responsibility of the end user. You also forgot that people will delete stuff and then regret it later which is why the game "perma delete" that is around is not actually a perma delete. Its just an advanced hide. If people delete a game they can get it back if they really want it back. Which is exactly what I'm suggesting for items in the inventory, that you can remove them from your sight, but still be able to get them back if you dig around for them.

It does what you want, you never have to see it again.
It does what I want, you can get it back if you accidentally delete or delete it on purpose and regret it later.

The unwanted stickers came within Summer Sale events, whether it was buying games on sale, or participating in the event mini-games. Steam thought they were a good idea but they're just inventory clutter. As for another poster who talked about cluttered high-level accounts - well, I am in that category but avoiding clutter, and when I search my inventory that I trim down by converting unwanted stuff to gems - I'd rather view an inventory that only has things in it that I want retained. In 99% of all virtual systems out there, a user can delete things such as those stickers - to put in perspective, they're like spam email within a Steam user's Inventory.

Look, it's Steam that made the mistake by introducing a system that most Steam users have stated they didn't want to participate with, which is partly why the Stickers are not even part of recurring Steam events any more. So, Steam has "got the message" that users predominantly don't want virtual stickers in their Steam user experience, so now let's "Take out the trash" and offer users the ability to unload them.

And for those who talk "unlimited inventory" - just think about what you're saying, and the excuses you're attempting to make for poor choices by Steam. It would be like telling an email user that their Inbox is unlimited so just deal with the spam in there. I want a trimmed and reduced inventory - don't judge other people's way of how they want their Steam User experience to be - and be part of the solution, not part of the problem (encouraging Steam not to change anything is encouraging their inaction).

You didn't get any stickers by buying games. You only got the stickers by clicking on the big button AFTER going into the section where it was at.

You got a card for buying over 10 bucks worth of stuff, you did not get any stickers. The card could be sold, traded, given away or gemmed.

You also got a card and an emoticons (both of which you could turn into gems, sell, give away or trade) if you crafted a badge.

So no, you didn't get anything that you couldn't get rid of UNLESS you clicked the button that you have to search out and press.

And I will say YET AGAIN.... the advanced hide will do everything you want it to do. It will get rid of all the stickers and what not that you don't want anymore. They will be out of your sight. Your inventory will be as empty as you want to make it.

BUT you will still be able to get the items back if you really really want them, but just like the current advanced hide for games, you will have to dig for them to get them back but you will still be able to get them back if you want them back. If you don't.... then you will never see them again...

How hard is that to understand for people? Are people just upset its called advanced hide instead of PERMA DELETE!!!!! (but can still get it back if you really want it) Just call it Perma delete but have the functionality of being able to get stuff back if you want it. Best of both worlds.

Sigh...

Make a unified suggest to Valve that they make Points Store Items Tradable as well as Stickers from Sales and Fests.

Sorted!

Because I have seen this suggestion made loads of times and TBH I just realise that valve could solve the annoyances.

Also I think Sales and Fests should have Items added to the store.
