Should any game that encourages gun-violence be removed from Steam?

The best way to discourage children from purchasing firearms/school shootings and ceasing the largest cause for child deaths in the US would be to encourage companies that allow gun-violence toys and simulations to be banned.

This would drop child deaths by huge numbers and force other companies to follow suite if Steam led the way.

I very much doubt the effect. The same violent videogames are played in pretty much every western country, yet the number of school shootings / mass shootings in the US does not compare to pretty much any other country (~73% of all mass schootings happen in the US).

There is no easy solution, no single root to that problem, certainly not banning any sort of media (Dungeons & Dragons, Heavy Metal, Hip Hop, videogames, violent movies and comics have all been used as a scapegoat to blame for gun violence)

Encourage scientists, politicians et alii to look for problems in society that allow this kind of violent behavior to flourish and work on solving those problems.

Do not look for a scapegoat, sacrifice it and expect things to get better.

Except games literally don't do that, and the supreme court of the United States has even ruled that they don't. A game is just a game. You don't see me going around casting meteor on people or running around with a sword slashing people after playing Final Fantasy.....

So media cannot even feature use of firearms? Does use of firearms automatically mean it encourages real world violence?

Suggest you re-read post #8 where I posted a link that contained their ruling that they found no connection behind violent video games and aggressive behavior and that no one could make a reasonable assumption that there was a link based on the evidence.
