Regarding blank/broken Steam game icons...
So I have found I have some 150+ games that have blank game icons even if they are freshly re-created through Steam.

This issue has nothing to do with the Windows 11 icon cache files. It has to do with games that were moved on a HDD/SDD from either an older computer or previous windows install and then detected by Steam as being installed.

All Steam game shortcuts are .url files, and the Icon files for the shortcuts are stored in ...\Steam\Steam\Games\

Currently verifying the integrity of a games files will not replace the games icon in that folder above if its missing. The only way to fix it is to rename the folder, uninstall the game, rename the folder back to original, reinstall and have the files detected. Its only on the install process that this shortcut icon is added in ...\Steam\Steam\Games\ so the games desktop shortcut doesnt show as a blank page.

Since it would be more tedious to have to rename each game folder, uninstall, rename folder again, reinstall, is there any way Valve Inc that the games icon file could be added to files that are checked during Verify Integrity of Game files so it could be replaced if missing instead of having to go through the install process?

Or even better would be a batch function that checks and replaces any missing icons in ...\Steam\Steam\Games\ for products that are installed.

+1 This used to work. I did a fresh install of windows, but my games are all on another drive.

Previously verifying would fix the shortcut icons. (alebit still tedious to do one by one).

Now doesnt work at all and have to do some terrible workaround like above.

Yeah its tedious alright, which is why now I only do the workaround if I plan on playing the game and keep the icon deleted until I fix the game through half baked reinstall.
