Short version, an advanced hide where you don't ever have to see the item again is a better idea just because if its accidentally deleted, or highjacker gets in, or annoying sibling or child gets in, you can still get the items back.
Also Steam support only deals with billing and accounting issues. Wanting to delete stuff is not either of those.
Omg, how option to delete garbage from Steam inventory is rise a lot of problems? I talk about STEAM INVENTORY! Not CS:GO or PUBG inventories etc
- people who suddenly changed their mind
- people with hijacked accounts with inventory cleaned
Lol sure! I see this situation - scammer steals steam account and.... starts delete cheap 0.01$ steam inventory trash)
Doesn't matter what the cost is. Scammers and Hijackers try to get into accounts to take everything and anything they can, cause everything adds up.
They also try to do as much damage as they can. Cheating in games as mentioned (because they know the ban will not be reversed), delete all the friends after they have spammed out a bunch of stuff to try to get more suckers to click on links to stuff. And delete everything they can't take with them.
Also the 1 cent item might not mean anything to you, but it could mean a whole lot to someone who got the item a long time ago who can no longer get the items back because the event is long over. Maybe someone who helped them get the item is no longer around for what ever reason. You have no idea why someone would want to keep something like that around.
An advanced hide does exactly what you want... it gets it out of your sight. But it also does exactly what others want... gives users the ability to get something back without bugging steam support or posting rants about wanting their item back that was deleted by accident or by the little annoying sibling that came in while they ran to the bathroom or the hijacker that got in because they were stupid and gave away all their info.
If it makes you feel better, call it delete and undelete.... it would do exactly the same thing as I suggested here, but with a different name.... so it doesn't actually matter what its called.
mE TOO.
