There should be a button for recommending a game to a friend
-steam is all about community
-sales improve(recommended by friend is the best PR)
-feature can be expanded on(add a note to the person recommended the game; If recommended game by the friend gets purchased, the person who recommended the game gets points/steam balance/stickers/emojis/...; stats on steam game page about recommendations)
-Data can be used to further improve steam
win overall, hire me :)

When you write a review (essentially a recommendation) it shows up on their feed, if they want it.

This is a better system because users can choose the information they receive. They may not want unsolicited recommendations from you.

You can recommend games to your friends in your activity feed.
Okay... it's more than one click but write a short one liner shouldn't be the problem, no :conwhat:

-yeah, i guess like 20-25% of people played a game leave a review, and no one checks their feed

-why would be a friend(s)(IRL/friends i went to school with/ a person i know and their taste and vise versa) would not want a recommendation from me?

You would have to ask said friend(s), we wouldn't know why they wouldn't want your recommendations.

Okay again;
-most people are casual gamers and dont read the feed our anything like that,
-but people listen to their friend when they are recommended a game(i know my friends a what they like/dont like)

If that were the case, there wouldn't be a button to disable it in your activity feed options.

You clearly aren't understanding anything anyone is saying in the thread

If I got random friend game recommendations I would not be happy...because I don't want them.

Even if I did, I also certainly would not want a game recommendation from a friend that simply pushed a button without a reason as to why said friend recommended the game.

Again, that's why reviews are important and why reviews are geared towards "recommendation" rather than whether a game is good or not.

How can it be random if its a friend of you, yourself have added to your friendslist? if your FL is full of shady people, thats on you.

It is random in the sense that the recommendation in and of itself, from friend or otherwise, would be random. Some people do not want that, hence the setting. If your personal friends are fine with games that you recommend, great, otherwise if some of them don't want to be bothered by it, so be it, pretty much out of your hand and that honestly seems like the actual issue at hand.

There already is. On every game you own and play.

On the store page there is a "share" button. You can copy the link to the store page there and then paste that in the chat to your friends.

I always check my activity feed, as doe I check reviews for games I'm interested in that appear in said feed.

What I do not want is notification spam just because people press that "recommend to friend" button. That people are on my friends list does not mean I'm open to get spammed.

Agreed. This is what I was trying to explain.

I check my feed regularly.
Besides... you don't have to write a full review, you can just tag the games and wrote one or two sentences about what makes you think it's a good game. ¯\_:aksmile:_/¯
