Allow developers to delete reviews.

Okay so I've noticed something that personally annoys me inside of the bad review section of every popular or slightly known game (more specifically Portal): practically the entire negative section is just people creating joke reviews [for attention] to try and get awarded free steam points. If it's not a joke review it's just people complaining about nausea or difficulty [which isn't the problem, I'm just stating it]. Although this is not causing an effect on the positive reviews, it still deserves to be gone. It's literally people "disliking" a game for no reason. The only reason they do it is for attention and prizes. Also it's pretty scummy to the people who actually have to gain Steam points through purchases.

Edit: Maybe some time of approved developer system? Which would only allow approved developers to delete bad reviews? + Actually support your opinion and don't start jibber jabbering about why something is bad without reasons unlike *cough cough* MoonCAT *cough-

steam needs to fix its broken review system.

increase the time played before a review can be given

do not allow refunding after a review, price to pay to review would be price to own the game.

rate and store users reviews excessive reviews and refunding by a user account should automatically disable the users purchasing and refunding on the account.

this would eliminate fraud accounts from participaing in reviews malciously and would infact promote steams user growth because those fraud accounts would be forever locked unable to purchase on the platform. so users of the accounts would have to creat new accounts to continue manipulating the review system.

we can't allow developers to delete content but we can force those leaving review content to be held accountable for there actions and words.

But "fraud accounts participating in reviews maliciously" has not been shown to be a problem necessitating systemic changes. You're inventing a problem just to complain about it.

You're talking to someone who maintains Steam itself is committing large scale review fraud through fake accounts.

ok but what about when steam upvotes is own paid for marketing , as you will note that steam csgo has a daily upvote for 2500 users , this is rather constistant and on going and is directly and suspciously linked to steam itself and the 2500 accounts that steam internally controls.

ive investigated this and it matchs up to the daily 2500 upvotes currently csgo has the highest review content on steam, making it nothing more then a cookie cutter example of actual steam marketing review abuse.

i will also state that steam have the ability with these accounts to upvote paid for advertisting on its system to sway public opinion, and help paying game studio sell the game that gives them extra profit.

this could be a internal steam marketing tool, as i have read in the past that steam takes a higher cut of the game sales within the first 90 days. so for them to unconditionally promote bad games to create profit makes sense.

while i can't say for certain what games steam does this with, i will delcare that CSGO and its 6million reviews is the "prime" example of review fraud.

I'll never understand any push for not being able to review if you refund. That's so incredibly anti-consumer that it's just baffling to me that it's seriously suggested as a fix to any problem. Even worse when the problem occurs at an insignificant level.

You're basically saying punish the consumer, if they want to share their negative experience.

Basically gonna give the bad developers a massive safety net for releasing the worst products ever.

Other sites lets you review a product when issued a refund.

You can't abuse the refund system currently because too many refunds will trigger a warning.
This is also most likely not an issue. You'd need several thousand people to make a difference.

I think that happened with the Resident Evil 4 Remake. I think it was related to upgrading weapons. However, I'm not sure if reviews were adjusted for it or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

Exactly i abandoned all hope, there is no making any sense out of steams review system promoting extremely bad redundant games, or its low forum activity vs the delcared high active user count they say they have.

sometimes i think steam is just playing a joke on all of us to see what we will believe and how far they can get away with it.

Ask yourself where does it stop? we have all seen developers blame their failures on others like "MAH RACISM" "toxic community" or just strait up lie. There are plenty of samples to choose from as most are aware so there should be no need to extend this post with lists.

You can dress this up as an annoyance of yours but the big picture is far worse then an "annoyance" it is the dilution of accurate opinion with the intent to mislead. You may have pure intentions but others do not.

Developers already artificially alter their reviews through the use of fake reviews and paid reviews (Amazon Games and Snail Games). So now you want them to have the ability to remove the opinions of those that do not like their product?
